The number of candidates in Somalia elections fell to 37

Abdikarim Hussein Guled, former Minister of Interior and former head of Galmudug Province, and newcomer Abdinasir Abdille Mohamed announced on Saturday that they are resigning to support Abdishakur Abdirahman’s candidacy.

The number of candidates in the presidential race in Somalia saw the summit with 39 candidates, the largest number in Somalia history.

The day before the election, the two candidates dropped to 37 with a decision to withdraw from the nomination.
