Senegal and the European Union strengthen migration and trade cooperation
The Senegalese government and the European Union met this Tuesday at a political dialogue meeting to discuss migration and trade relations and strengthen cooperation.
The meeting was chaired by Senegalese Foreign Minister Aïssata Tall Sall and European Union Ambassador to Dakar Irène Mingasson.
The aim of this political dialogue is to deepen the exchanges between Senegal and the EU on issues of common interest and to strengthen cooperation in priority areas.
The agenda of this first political dialogue session of 2022 focused specifically on two themes: cooperation in the field of migration and economic and trade relations”, said Aïssata Tall Sall.
Thematically, the meeting focused on improving the root causes of irregular migration, the fight against migrant smuggling networks and transnational crime for young people, regular migration opportunities and the reintegration of returning migrants.
