Nigeria urges Israel to allow humanitarian aid to go to Gaza

Nigeria has called for an “immediate, durable and permanent humanitarian ceasefire” between Israeli forces and Hamas in Gaza, as more than two million people face a difficult situation in the besieged enclave.

Nigeria’s Foreign Minister Yusuf Tuggar, said that “parties of conflict must uphold the fundamental values of human rights and international humanitarian law, prioritizing ensuring the safety and well-being of civilians even in times of conflict.”

He defined the situation in Gaza with the words of “humanitarian diseaster” due to shortages of water, food, medical supplies and fuel.
