Momerandum about CAR submitted to National Assembly of Türkiye

The Presidential Memorandum signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, on the extension of the authorization for the participation of the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) in the operations and missions carried out by the United Nations (UN) in the Central African Republic for next year was submitted to the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.

In the momerandum it is reminded that in Central African Republic, United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission (MINUSMA) was founded by the UN.

It is pointed out the stabilization in the region and stated that “It was evaluated that our country’s military contribution to the solution of humanitarian and political crises that pose a threat to regional stability and peace in Africa will constitute a natural extension of our active foreign policy that we are following in the region and on the African continent in general.” in the momerandum.

In the momerandum, it was requested term of mission of the Turkish Armed Forces be extended for one year as of October 31, 2023, within the framework of the permission to be given by the President and the principles to be determined.
