Libya delivers Egyptian citizens who died after the storm to Egypt

Libyan authorities in the city of Tobruk announced that the bodies of 145 Egyptians who lost their lives as a result of the storm that hit eastern Libya on Sunday were delivered to Egypt.

The ministry issued a message to Egyptian public that they are working to obtain data on victims and closely monitoring search and rescue operations.

There are at least 140,000 Egyptians living in Libya, according to a February report from the International Organization for Migration.

The report stated that Egyptian immigrants constitute 21 percent of Libya’s total immigrant population and 47 percent of these Egyptian immigrants live in the east of the country.
