In Morocco, 110 protests from 50 cities were held in solidarity with Gaza
Israel's attacks in Gaza were protested in 50 cities of Morocco.
According to the written statement made by the Moroccan non-governmental organization Ummah Issues Support Institution, demonstrations in support of Gaza were held in 110 different locations in 50 cities in one day.
In the demonstrations held in cities including Tatvan, Tangier, Meknes, Agadir, Tarudant and Vecde, Israel’s genocide, forced starvation and deportation policy against civilians of Gaza were condemned and called the international community to fulfill its responsibility in protecting civilians.
Demonstrators called on Moroccan authorities to take a position supporting the Palestinian people and to step back from the normalization agreement with Israel.
Protesters stated that they will continue to demonstrate until the war in Gaza stops and Palestinians gain their fair and legitimate rights.
Morocco and Israel signed the normalization agreement on December 10, 2020, which stipulated that Morocco would restart diplomatic relations with Israel in exchange for recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty in Western Sahara.
