ICESCO is ready to help Libya in their work of restoration damaged heritage sites
The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) reaffirmed its full solidarity with the Libyan State in the face of this devastating natural disaster and its full readiness to cooperate with the competent Libyan authorities to provide the necessary support and assistance.
In its statement, ICESCO expressed its sincere condolences to the Libyan state and people and to those who lost their lives as a result of Storm Daniel, which caused the floods that most recently hit the country. He expressed his sincere condolences to the families of the deceased, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured and safety to the missing.
The organization also decided to postpone the 2023 Benghazi Cultural Capital of the Islamic World celebrations, planned to be held on September 16, until further notice.
