Government Resigns in Mauritania

Prime Minister of Mauritania, Mohammed Vild Bilal, tendered his government’s resignation to President Mohammed Vild Sheikh al-Ghazwani.

His resignation came after President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani severely criticized the government’s performance.

“Most ministries do not have enough staff to solve the problems of citizens. This is unacceptable. There is a huge lack of oversight of public services,” Ghazouani said in a speech on March 24.
