Egyptian people vote for presidential elections

Egyptian voters went to the polls to elect a new president. The voting process in the country, which started at 09:00 local time, continued until 21:00 in the evening.

In addition to President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the election race includes the leader of the Egyptian Social Democratic Party, Farid Zahran, the leader of the Wafd Party, Abdussened Yemame, and the leader of the Republican People’s Party, Hazem Omar.

While it was announced that there were more than 67 million voters in Egypt, it was noted that the voting process, which started today, will end on December 12.

The election results are expected to be announced on December 18 and published in the Official Gazette.

According to a written statement from Egypt’s National Electoral Board, if the elections go to a second round, the second round of voting will take place abroad on January 5-7, 2024, and domestically on January 8-10, 2024.
