Egypt condemns Israeli attack on residential square in Jabalia refugee camp
Israeli airstrikes on refugee camp in northern Gaza led to hundreds of casualties.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned Israeli airstrikes Tuesday on the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza that left hundreds dead and injured.
“Egypt strongly condemns the Israeli inhumane targeting of an entire residential square in Jabalia camp northern Gaza and left hundreds killed and injured,” it said in a statement.
The Foreign Ministry considered the bombing of a residential area “a blatant violation of the international law” which will exacerbate the situation.
It urged countries and relevant international bodies to condemn the attacks and the international community to shoulder responsibility for providing protection to Palestinian civilians.
A series of Israeli airstrikes on the Jabalia refugee camp led to hundreds of casualties, according to the Interior Ministry in the besieged enclave.
Victims mostly included women and children, it said, adding that Israeli warplanes destroyed the entire residential square known as Block 6.
