Congo Brazaville and Rwanda Strengthen Cooperation with Signed Agreements
Congo President Denis Sassou-N’Guesso and his Rwandan counterpart, Paul Kagame, signed several cooperation agreements in Tuesday, affecting multiple areas in the northeast of the Republic of Congo, including agriculture, infrastructure, trade and industry, mining and geology.
As shared by the Congo presidency, “The legal documents signed between Congo and Rwanda on April 12 concern the following areas: agriculture, infrastructure, SMEs and crafts, culture and arts, trade and industry, mines and geology, civic education and skills training. ”
In the final statement released on the occasion of their meeting, Heads of State Denis Sassou N’Guesso and Paul Kagame agreed to “expand and deepen the scope of cooperation” between the two countries.
After assessing that the level of economic relations between the two countries in 2010 and 2011 “does not reflect the breadth and depth of the commitments”, the Heads of State instructed their respective governments to work “without delay” in developing action plans.
