After a successful visit to Türkiye, Al-Burhan returns to Sudan
Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, returned to Sudan after a successful visit to Türkiye after he held discussions with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
He was received at Port Sudan Airport by the Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Acting Prime Minister-designate, Othman Hussein, and Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Ghali Ali Youssef, Secretary-General of the Sovereignty Council.
Ambassador Ali Al-Sadiq, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, said in a press statement that the discussions between the two presidents touched on the established historical relations between Khartoum and Ankara and economic cooperation between the two countries, indicating that the discussion session touched on the possibility of increasing Turkish humanitarian aid. He said that, the Turkish side confirmed its readiness to contribute to the reconstruction of what was destroyed by the war and standing by the Sudanese people to face post-war challenges and provide them with humanitarian and medical assistance in addition to its contribution to working towards the success of the agricultural season and activating joint agreements.
The Acting Foreign Minister explained that, the Sudanese side expressed its thanks and appreciation to Türkiye for the humanitarian and medical assistance it provided to Sudan, stressing Sudan’s readiness to build strategic relations with Türkiye that serve the interests of the two friendly peoples, pointing to the great role that the Republic of Türkiye plays in the region.
