Direct flights between Kenya and Somalia starts after 3,5 years
It is stated that Kenya Airways will start having flights to Somalia after 3,5 years. The flights will start on Feb. 14, 2024.
Kenya Airways Chief Commercial Officer Julius Thairu, made a statement to press, and said that the first scheduled flight will be held on Feb. 14, 2024, from Kenya’s capital Nairobi to Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.
Thairu also stated that the relations between two countries improved and flights are reflection of this improvement.
The airways will hold two flight every week between two countries.
Kenya decided on this on Nov. 24, after acception of Somalia to EAC (East African Community).
The flights between Kenya and Somalia was stopped on August 2020, because of Covid-19 Pandemic.
